**Job description**

Now Education are looking for a Level Three SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a primary pupil. The role is for a primary school within Derby on a full-time and long-term basis.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant you will play a vital role in the development and education of young children. Your passion for working with children, along with your experience and skills, will contribute to creating a positive and enriching learning environment.

You will support in the educational, social, emotional, physical and sensory development of the individual pupil, under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, SENCo and class teacher. You will assist in the implementation of the pupil's Statement/EHCP and Individual Education Plan (IEP) and help to monitor their progress.

**Requirements**:

- You must have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a teaching qualification
- Experience working with primary children on a 1:1 basis
- Experience working with children with autism or special educational needs is a plus
- Familiarity with implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) is beneficial
- You must have the patience to provide 1:1 support to children with SEN needs
- Be creative in your approach to learning and delivering the curriculum
- Have high expectations of pupils’ achievements and a commitment to excellent standards
- Work well as part of a team.
- Be enthusiastic, energetic and committed to making learning exciting
- Have excellent communication skills with children and adults

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide care and support for primary children on a 1:1 basis
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and development
- Collaborate with other educators to create a cohesive learning environment

**Skills**:

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to engage and connect with children on their level
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with young children
- Excellent organisational skills to plan and implement activities effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
