WHAT DOES A DISTILLERY SUPERVISOR DO?- Macduff Distillery is part of the Bacardi UK OC (Operations Centre) and is a key part of Spirit Supply, comprising of dynamic processes such as Milling, Mashing, Fermentation, Distillation and Bulk Spirit Handling. These operations are complex and require expertise to help shape the workloads and propel us in attaining our UK OC goals and visions in line with the organisation’s long-term Best 10 strategies.ABOUT YOU- As the Distillery Supervisor for operations, the Supervisor will look to continuously improve the production and administration support to the distillery, the role holder will also be exposed to experience of operational management through planned activities, to include deputising for the Distillery Manager as and when required.- This person will be enthusiastic and proactive, actively contributing to the success of the team by carefully planning to the needs of the business, while remaining flexible and adaptive.**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in achieving distillery annual output targets working as one team to produce consistent spirit quality within budget and in a safe working environment.
- Place orders for all raw materials and consumables, monitoring and reporting expenditure monthly against budget.
- Assist the Distillery Manager in all aspects of the job including participating in the “On Call” roster.
- Provide cover for the Distillery Manager to include the day to day operation and any tasks associated with the distillery.
- You will be involved in the production, storage and handling of feed ingredients and will be fully aware of the animal feeds regulations.
- Assist in the management of all financial, operational, C&E, EHS and SEPA documentation for the distillery.
- Participate in JDSL communication briefings/meetings and help with development issues and other initiatives where appropriate.
- Actively participate in the Continuous Improvement of distillery operators and operations/activities by considering current work practices and suggesting alternatives where appropriate.
- Be fully aware of the financial responsibilities and participate in the forming of the annual distillery budget.
- To communicate clearly with the Distillery Manager and operators on an hourly/daily basis.
- Ensure that all relevant samples are taken and dispatched to customers, company laboratory, and external laboratories.
- Promote and Reinforce correct Environmental. Health & Safety behaviours through personal example.
- Take action upon any environmental, health and safety matter brought to their notice, and report to their relevant Manager immediately on any matter which they are unable to rectify

Skills and Experience
- Functional skills:
- Ability to balance and prioritise workloads
- Ability to work closely with others within the team, but also other internal functions (Finance, Customs Compliance, Production team, etc.)
- Basic understanding of mechanical equipment and control systems
- Recording and sharing of trackers and KPIs relating to their site's operations
- Understanding and exercising financial and customs compliance requirements in relation to all operations
- Acting as 1st point of contact for operators regarding correction of any system processing errors, assisting in corrections.
- Drive continuous improvement through improving systems and training operators
- Contribute to and administer the Idea Generation initiative
- Assist with the review and administration of Standard Operating procedures and Risk Assessments
- Ensure all visitors and contractors are fully inducted to the site
- Good problem solving and analytical abilities
- Providing cover to other team members and sites when needed and engaging in cross-functional support within the team
- Valid driving licence
