Working alongside our health care providers, you would be employed by Cornwall Council on Agenda for Change salary and pension. Children & Family Services, Early Help and Children’s Community Health Services work closely together and have shared electronic records.

**About the role**
- Responsible for providing safeguarding advice from a health perspective to staff that contribute to the effective assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care and management of risk.
- Promote the involvement and engagement of families in the safeguarding process; providing advice, education, support and information as required to frontline practitioners.
- Recognise, prioritise and respond appropriately to urgent safeguarding concerns.
- Represent health services at risk assessment conferences, preparing health information from a range of providers and contributing to risk analysis activity and feedback safety plans to practitioners.
- Advise, inform and escalate safeguarding concerns to the respective Senior Safeguarding Leads regarding all matters in relation to safeguarding as appropriate.
- To review, risk assess and follow up on referrals from Ambulance Trusts, 111, Minor Injuries Units, Emergency Departments and other relevant health care settings and to share information with relevant practitioners, evidencing action taken and liaising with services as required.
- To communicate effectively in verbal and written form in the exchange of highly complex, sensitive or contentious information in difficult situations using de-escalation, mediation, resolution and professional Duty of Candour.

**About you**
- Be a registered health care professional with evidence of masters level study
- Specialist knowledge and experience in safeguarding children
- Able to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years working with children and families in a safeguarding capacity
- A proven track record of working together with other professionals and agencies to improve outcomes for children and young people
- A good understanding of the benefits of multi-disciplinary teams and how to develop integrated learning and working
- Excellent presentation and strong report writing skills

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.

Whilst the location/work-base for this role may have been specified our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g., from home/other locations). We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.
