Dental Decontamination Operative to work in the sterilisation unit of a busy dental practice in central Leamington Spa.

27.75 hours per week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 7.45am-1pm 2pm-6pm

The role requires a certain level of fitness as the practice is spread out over several floors involving many flights of stairs and the role is essentially standing up for most of the day

No previous experience necessary, full training will be given but a solid work history is advantageous.

References will be sought as part of the recruitment process before the final selection due to the nature of the environment.

The job description is outlined below
- Maintain a high level of infection control at all times
- Clean and sterilise dental instruments according to HTM 01-05
- Transport boxes and instruments to the relevant destination
- Organise the department in a professional manner
- Adhere to all practice protocols, BDA guidelines and CQC requirements
- Ensure punctual wash times
- Liaise with nurses to ensure a smooth flow of instruments.
- Clean and disinfect all instrument transportation boxes on a daily basis
- Maintain all department equipment and record all breakdowns
- Keep accurate records of autoclave tests
- Be directed by the Clinical Supervisor to any new developments or changes to procedures
- Liaise with relevant companies when necessary to organise repairs or servicing of CSU equipment
- Ensure the upkeep of the exterior fabric of the building including the car park, front and back door, toilets and communal areas.
- Purify an adequate level of water for use in the autoclaves
- Fill and empty/ drain all autoclaves on a daily basis
- Make up an adequate quantity of Sterilox for surgery use on a daily basis
- Empty surgery clinical waste bags and store appropriately
- Drain the compressor on a weekly basis and turn off at the end of each day
- Perform any other duties within the capability of the individual to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

**Salary**: £17,316.00-£18,715.00 per year
