ABOUT YOU
You’ll be reliable, hard-working, organised and proactive. You’ll have experience of a wide range of projects and have developed specialist knowledge (especially on herpetofauna, chiropteran or riparian mammals). You’ll also have good project management skills and report-writing skills, and some experience of line managing individuals.
ABOUT US
Our UK Ecology team, comprising more than 160 ecologists based across the UK, covers all terrestrial, freshwater and marine habitats. We provide clients with the full range of ecological services including specialist habitat and species surveys, impact assessment, advice on biodiversity mitigation, offsetting and enhancement, and management planning for biodiversity. Our projects include high-profile transport and other infrastructure, as well as commercial and residential development projects.
ABOUT THE JOB
We’re seeking an experienced Principal Ecologist to join our team in South East England. This is a fantastic opportunity to further your career within an established and successful company that has welfare and wellbeing as core values. Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies develop technical solutions to complex problems.
**Qualifications**:
Minimum Requirements:
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, provincial and national regulations to ensure compliance. Work is performed with mínimal direction.
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Responsible for advanced duties and activities in their specialized functional area.
- Conducts research and does investigation work as required.
- Plans and organizes project studies.
- Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures.
- Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems.
- May oversee the work of less experienced scientists.
