We are developing an inhouse Climate Centre of Expertise (CCoE) to provide direction on Aviva's climate and environmental strategy and are now looking to recruit inhouse experts at group level to coordinate this across the business. It's a very exciting function which sits within the broader corporate and brand affairs within Aviva, due to this we have a unique opportunity for an ESG Business Partner to join our newly created team. This is a great job for someone with experience or an interest ESG and a Strong understanding of the ASA strategy and the challenges within individual business and functional units

A bit about the job:
The Business Partner role coordinates between Group and the Business (UK&I Life, Aviva Investors, UKGI & Canada), accessing expert insight from the (CCoE) and sharing standard methodology to enable strategically aligned targets and commitments across Aviva for. Primarily concerned with climate and nature, the role is likely to expand over time to encompass broader ESG considerations. You will act as "one-stop-shop" for acquiring CCoE support, principally for the UK&I Life Market and Aviva Investors (AI), but also providing a “light touch” service to UKGI & Canada.

Additionally, you will:

- Drive the alignment of pledges across the Group and the business (taking into account competing priorities)
- Work collaboratively to understand needs and required activity for training, scenario analysis, position and approach
- Act as the primary point of contact between the business and Group regarding Climate and Nature topics.
- Work in partnership with the business to provide support and challenge to identify and prioritise decarbonisation initiatives, including knowledge sharing of similar net zero initiatives

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

- Proven track record of successful delivery in a sophisticated business environment
- Excellent relationship management skills including stakeholder management at senior executive level
- Understanding of decarbonisation strategies and levers
- Knowledge of climate change, decarbonisation and nature. Broader knowledge/experience regarding other areas of sustainability is desirable
- Professional qualification in CR/sustainability/Environmental Sciences or similar

- Starting salary of £70,000 - £75,000 (National) and £85,000 - £90,000 (London) depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
