Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) is the new brand of Magnox Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd and Wylfa, and research sites Harwell and Winfrith. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at hydroelectric plant Maentwrog. As a division of NRS, Dounreay is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former centre of fast reactor research and development.

About the role

**Hear from the Hiring Manager**
- "Safely cleaning up our nuclear legacy is nationally important work. We are looking for someone to join the Oldbury Waste Operations team in a vital role for that work._

**Please note the contractual working hours are Monday - Thursday, 07.25 - 17.00. Perfect for someone looking for a four-day working week.**

**Key Deliverables**
- Packaging and processing of waste using a variety of means - cranes, forklifts, industrial cutters and other plant/machinery.
- Other operations duties to support a safe working environment.
- Be trained to a high standard in Radiological Protection monitoring ensuring you and your colleagues are working safely (known as Level 5 Monitoring)
- Work to ensure work areas and the reports you write (such as waste item monitoring or Radiation Protection monitoring) are of a high standard.
- Work compliantly and safely to meet Team, Site and Company targets, including working with other Site teams and Projects.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Appropriate technical qualification e.g., City and Guilds, BTEC, NVQ (NQF Level 2) or relevant experience (essential).
- Experience of working within an industrial environment (essential).
- Knowledge of radiological matters and nuclear safety standards (desirable). #INDOR

Please be aware this role holder requires security clearance, or the ability to obtain said clearance.

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
