**ICT Technician - £19,000 - £22,000 dependent on skills, qualifications and experience - Edgbaston, Birmingham**

**The Role**

Hallfield School is looking for an ICT Technician with a positive attitude who enjoys working in a team and can deliver outstanding customer service.

The postholder will assist the Network Manager in providing essential day-to-day maintenance work on both academic and business IT systems and provide first-line support to all users, as directed by the Network manager. The ICT Technician will provide supportto all staff, technical help and solutions for hardware and software issues to ensure continuity of delivery of educational and business services.

Permanent contract working all year round, 37.5 to 40 hours per week.

**Key Responsibilities**

The key responsibilities of an ICT Technician include, but are not limited to:

- Supporting staff on and off site, over the telephone remotely and in person as required to ensure all queries are dealt with effectively and efficiently.
- Assist the Network Manager in monitoring support requests from staff via the school IT helpdesk.
- Maintaining the computer room and network in a ready state to use at the start of the day reporting any issues which can’t be resolved to the Network Manager.
- Keeping the computer room tidy / check ICT bookings.
- Supervising the use of printers and replenishing toners as required.
- Preventative maintenance of equipment as directed by the Network Manager.
- Support teachers and pupils in the classroom as required.
- Ensure sensible use of equipment such as computers, printers, scanners and adherence to the school’s policies in this respect.
- Undertake other duties as appropriate to assist other members of the admin team, to support the work of the headmaster and other members of the Exec Team and the Governors.

**The Person**

The key skills and qualities of an ICT Technician are:

- GCSE or equivalent English and Mathematics (grade C or above).
- 'A’ Level (or equivalent) qualification in computing.
- 1 or more years’ experience in similar role.
- Experience in 1st line ICT support.
- Experience of working with a helpdesk.
- Demonstrable knowledge of: Windows server 2016/2019, Active Directory, DHCP,DNS, Windows 10, Office 365, Meraki MDM.
- Demonstrable knowledge of best practice and current technology.
- A good understanding of Apple devices.
- A basic understanding of networking/LAN/WLAN.
