Job Summary
The HSE Advisor will be based at our Luton site supporting our Defence and Civil Business lines whilst reporting to the HSE Manager, the role will require flexibility for quarterly travel to our other UK sites for audits and there is flexibility to work from home for up to 1 day per week dependent on the needs of the business. The HSE Advisor you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining GKN Aerospace HSE policies and procedures as well as collaborating with the leadership teams to embed a positive safety, environment and sustainable culture throughout the site making appropriate use of GKN principles. The role requires working closely with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of risk assessments, provide recommendations and follow through action plans to completion, the incumbent will provide technical HSE advice, guidance and assurance to ensure statutory compliance along with structured recordkeeping.

Established in 1993, GKN Aerospace in Luton is a world leader in commercial and military ice protection systems and transparencies. Offering a full range of capabilities; design, analysis, testing, certification and manufacture of electro-thermal ice protection, military fast jet canopies and flight deck windows to over 20 programmes including: Boeing 787, Dreamliner, Airbus A320, AgustaWestland, AW101, Eurofighter Typhoon and Lockheed, Martin F-22 Raptor. Our customers include Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Bell Helicopters, Textron, BAE Systems, Pratt & Whitney, Leonardo. Our Luton site is home to 400+ employees and onsite facilities including onsite parking, canteen, vending machines and showers.
Job Responsibilities

Support the HSE Lead

Implement GKN Aerospace HSE policies and procedures throughout the site

Complete and maintain required HSE documentation including risk assessments

Report and manage all incidents on HSE data collection system

Provide reports as required on site HSE performance

Ensure accurate and complete tracking of internal HSE metrics, plans, recordkeeping and corrective actions

Ensure employees are trained and competent in relation to HSE

Ensure statutory compliance of the site

Set targets for site HSE performance

Support Health and Safety and Environmental site certifications as required

Support the HSE Audit function

How You'll Contribute

To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:
**Essential**:
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent HSE qualification

Significant Health, Safety and Environmental experience gained from a manufacturing or engineering environment

Experience of working to certifications such as ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 or 50001

**Desirable**:
Tech IOSH or AIEMA membership

Aerospace industry experience

Experience of working to Lean Manufacturing principles

Experience of investigating accidents, incidents or near misses
