**The Opportunity**
Well established SME in Chesterfield have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Procurement Manager to support them through ongoing rapid growth and expansion. This company is making huge leaps, there is plenty to get stuck into with implementing& improving processes and project involvement as well as business as usual.
You will enjoy a broad, varied role with visibility and genuine autonomy to add value and drive change to ensure standardisation across the company. You will oversee a small team, mentoring and supporting them throughout.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys building relationships, negotiating and with the confidence and gravitas to get out into the wider business to liaise with internal and external stakeholders as the key contact for Procurement for the company.
Your remit includes:
- Managing the daily activity in the Purchasing department, ensuring all purchase orders are accurate, streamlining procedures where necessary
- Supporting internal sourcing of items required for UK and overseas businesses, providing guidance on products/suppliers and services.
- Building strong working relationships with internal colleagues, and external stakeholders
- Ensure suppliers are regulated, adhering to company policies
- Reporting to finance teams, assisting with month end and invoicing process.
- Implementing systems to ensure efficient running of the warehouse GRN system
- Tracking spend and orders planned on a project by project basis
- Monitor inventory levels
- Plan and coordinate the packing, despatch, documentation and tracking of all goods and materials from the head office and suppliers (UK and overseas)
You should have:
- A strong background with demonstratable experience within a Senior Procurement role, ideally within the Civil Engineering sector or similar
- Ideally CIPS qualified, but not essential
- A successful track record of negotiation with suppliers, along with strong influencing skills and the ability to build strong rapports
- Confidence to challenge stakeholders where necessary whilst maintaining beneficial relationships
- Strong practical experience of international shipping and stock management
- A keen eye for continuous improvement and demonstrable history of implementing streamlined processes and procedures
