We are recruiting two talented individuals to work as our Business Support in the Intelligence Department and provide administrative support across our five varied teams to facilitate the delivery of key intelligence services to the wider business.

The roles sit within the Intelligence Department, which is part of the Enforcement & Market Oversight (EMO) Division. EMO is responsible for the FCA’s responsibilities for market monitoring, delivery of the functions of the Listing Transactions and the investigation and prosecution of misconduct, pursuing and remedying misconduct using the whole spectrum of criminal, civil and administrative sanctions and remedies against firms and individuals.

EMO - Intelligence Department

Intelligence activity is an important and a central function to many areas of the FCA and is embedded in many of our processes; with accuracy, timeliness and relevance at the heart of what we deliver. We provide intelligence for both regulatory and criminal work, and cooperate with many partners, both domestic and international. It is important we provide the highest quality intelligence products; they are shared appropriately (in accordance with GDPR and our FSMA gateways) and with consideration of the wider value within the content. We are not solely focused on EMO work and operate more broadly across the financial and economic crime landscape internally and externally, including our Authorisation and Supervision colleagues and their responsibilities to regulated firms and individuals across the UK regulated financial services sector. In supporting the Managers and teams you will be contributing to the efforts of the department in delivering its support to the business.

What does the role involve? What are the key responsibilities?- Working with a second administrator, providing secretarial and administrative support to the 5 Intelligence Department Managers and their teams;- Diary management, including liaising with internal and external contacts;- Planning and arranging domestic and international travel and accommodation;- Raising and managing purchase order requests;- Responsibility for maintaining a high standard of records management for the Department including archiving of documents;- Conducting specific tasks that directly support the department (such as conducting system audits, and monthly reconciliation of budget/recruitment and staffing levels)- Covering for other administrators and the HoD’s PA as required;- Ad-hoc projects (i.e. archiving documents and auditing of certain processes)- The opportunity to develop an understanding of a complex and fast paced area of the FCA, gaining insight into the Intelligence function and the teams’ activities, whilst supporting the delivery of a key business area of the organisation.- Access to stretch and developmental opportunities across the department, including covering for other administrators and the HoD PA when necessary, and possible involvement in wider work conducted by the department.- The opportunity to work with a supportive, collegiate and knowledgeable team, whilst developing your internal and external stakeholder management skills, and exposure to interesting work on financial crime and consumer harm.

Skills/Experience Required

Minimum- Professional experience of using the Microsoft office suite - including MS Outlook, SharePoint, Teams and other programs;- Strong written communication skills;- Demonstrable diary management across busy management diaries and competing demands;- Holds or able to obtain government Security Clearance at a minimum of SC level.

Essential- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise;- Ability to communicate with people at all levels, both internally and externally;- Integrity: proven ability to deal with confidential information;- Flexibility and a willingness to get things done or assist in the wider work of the department;- The ability to work under pressure with a high degree of accuracy and meet tight deadlines;- A collegiate and team player with a professional approach to the role;- The willingness to exercise your own judgement and initiative.

Desirable- An understanding of the FCA's role and work;- Experience of managing invoices and payments in relation to services procured ensuring prompt payment.
