Textile Cutter

My client located in Stratford, East London is recruiting for an experienced Textile Cutter to work within the workshop.

Duties to include (but not exclusively):

- Marking, measuring and cutting of materials for manufacture of drapes
- Liaising with the sales team to ensure customer requirements are met
- Prioritising and planning jobs so that work flows efficiently to the sewing machinists and
deadlines are met
- Adhere to the quality control and manufacturing procedures
- Carry out measuring, cutting and checking of cloth on the bench, in accordance with the
instructions on the works tickets (yellow tickets)
- Operating the Eyeleting machine
- Assist sewing machine operators and other cutters and machine operatives with any jobs
involving large amounts of cloth or where a second person is required to do the job, as
requested
- Carry out cloth inspections on the inspecting machine to check for flaws in the material and
assist others with cloth inspections when required
- Checking made up jobs to ensure they have not only been manufactured according to the
works tickets but that the workmanship is of a good standard before being sent to the
customer
- Assist with packing of parcels when required
- Unloading and loading of goods carriers when required
- Follow all company procedures and quality checklists to ensure customer requirements are
met and mistakes are avoided
- Ensure the Workshop and Packing area is kept clean, tidy and clear of obstructions and safe at
all times
- General workshop duties as directed by the Workshop Manager or management
- Comply with all health and safety requirements and company procedures
- Undertake all training that is required (including all machines)
- Assist with the training and induction of new employees as required

The salary will range from £20,000 to £25,000 depending on experience.

The hours are from 8am to 5pm working Monday to Friday.
