**Hours**: 37.5 per week (Monday to Friday)
**Length of the contract**: 6 months
Grafton Recruitment are now seeking to appoint an Estates Compliance Auditor to our Public Sector client based in Cambridgeshire. The Estates Compliance Auditor will be responsible for undertaking the testing and compliance of emergency fire safety equipmenton multiple sites. The Estates Compliance Auditor will be expected to work largely unsupervised, using their initiative to plan and coordinate multiple objectives. The post-holder should also maintain accurate logbooks to monitor both testing and actuationof fire alarm and emergency lighting systems. The post-holder will be based out of their local station, working flexibly around Cambridgeshire, and with some flexibility for home working.
**Duties of the Estates Compliance Auditor**
- To carry out weekly tests of the building's fire alarm system under the Regulatory Reform Order 2005 Article 17.
- To ensure that the fire alarm logbook is kept up to date and that the following events are recorded: dates and times of alarm tests, genuine faults and tests and whatever causes are listed, dates, time of defects and faults, what action has been taken,who it has been reported to and when, dates of the test system, dates of servicing, dates and times of any disconnections and disablements and any changes that have been made to the system.
- To understand the different types of lighting and their test requirements. Emergency lighting is a general term and is sub-divided into emergency escape lighting and standby lighting.
- To implement interim safety measures to ensure a building is safe before leaving a site.
- To support the Estates Team with site visits, potentially looking at areas of compliance which may include some of the following: external and internal cleaning standards, clinical and domestic waste levels and standards, linen levels and standards, windowcleaning standards, all building environment standards, pest control standards, IPC compliance, corrective minor works reporting, and standard of the internal and external building signage.
- To provide and receive routine communication to inform colleagues, Managers and service users.
- To problem solve and interpret operational manuals and compare range of options for problem solving.
- To demonstrate or train other colleagues regarding fire alarms and emergency lighting.
**Role Criteria**
- Full UK driving licence.
- Educated to a GCSE level or equivalent.
- IOSH Qualification or H&S equivalent.
- Level 2 or above Fire Risk Assessment qualification, such as the Level 3 ABBE FPA.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to Fire Safety and Health and Safety.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to use Excel, Microsoft and other IT systems.
- Experience working in the healthcare or fire sector.
- Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
- Flexible attitude to work and the ability to meet deadlines.
