What you’ll do As Product Owner, you will support our software delivery team in the building and improving of our software so that we are delivering the best solution for our clients. You will do this by providing guidance, defining and executing our Product principles and approaches for gathering requirements, and knowledge sharing with key business stakeholders.

In this role, you will:

- Obtain a shared understanding of the business domain and the problem to be solved
- Establish user stories
- Lead and facilitate the sizing and prioritsation of the user stories with the software delivery team
- Support the efficient delivery of the solution by the software delivery team
- Ensure the solution built by the software delivery team meets the requirements
- Contribute to the release planning and transition activities of the software into UAT and production.

You will be expected to work closely with the Technical Architects to ensure designs are scaled appropriately, are cost-effective and that they meet the requirements, standards, and quality thresholds. Alongside the Technical Architects, the Product Owner will be responsible for cost management around new developments, ensuring the cost of ownership is understood prior to development.

As an experienced Product Owner, you will also help support more junior members of the Product team which could involve mentoring as well as identifying training opportunities and providing guidance on best practice where appropriate. You may also be expected to support the recruitment and induction processes for new hires.

It is a given that the Product Owner will proactively keep up-to-date with relevant knowledge and skills and that they will be aligned to the evolving company culture, contributing towards internal communications and sharing stories to the wider community where appropriate.
- Effectively able to design large complex software solutions, having a strong background in software quality assurance.
- Strong expertise in conceptual modelling; ability to see the big picture and envision possible solutions
- Able to seamlessly turn complex information into easy-to-understand descriptions for both technical and non-technical audiences such as business departments and Software delivery teams.
- Ability to capture complete, unambiguous requirements using a variety of techniques such as user stories/acceptance criteria.
- Can effectively facilitate a team consensus on scope, design decisions and implementation decisions.
- Brings a deep understanding of software concepts and technologies such as databases, user interfaces, API’s, batch functionality, architecture.
- Keen to take a hands-on approach to learning about a system, for example, querying databases, making requests to APIs and following user journeys.
- Able to manage senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Can work independently, setting achievable timelines/plans, managing workload accordingly and delivering against set timelines.
- A dynamic outlook with the ability to adapt to changing scope and requirements.
