Veterinary Receptionist

Our friendly, small animal veterinary practice is looking for a reliable, approachable and professional receptionist to join our welcoming team. This person will provide a high standard of customer care to our fantastic client base, while maintaining a link between the clients and clinical team.
We are a team of four veterinary surgeons, seven nurses, three student nurses, one veterinary care assistants, six receptionists and one practice manager.
The role consists of:
- Answering phone calls quickly and effectively dealing with all our client queries
- Making our clients feel welcome and relaxed during their visits
- Booking appointments and ensuring reminders are set
- Entering data accurately into our appointment management system
- Keeping the vet and nurse diaries up to date, while managing the waiting room so clients are seen on time
- Ensuring the reception area meets our hygiene standards
- Taking payments from clients and cashing up at the end of every day
We all work together to ensure all tasks are completed, so you may be asked to do other tasks as well
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient English and Mathematic skills
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm in a busy environment
- Working as part of a team, as well as working on their own using your own initiative to carry out tasks
- The ability to receive and act upon instructions
- Dealing with emotional situations in a professional and compassionate manner
Previous experience working within a customer facing, or animal environment would be beneficial, but not essential as full training will be given.
There will be a share of bank holidays which are 9am-5pm. There is the option to cover sick or holiday leave.

Part-time hours: 25 per week

**Experience**:
- Veterinary Receptionist: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer Service: 1 year (required)
