**Perfect Personnel **are currently recruiting for a **foundary operative** on a temp to perm basis.
**Shift**: afternoons x4 (Monday to Thursday)
**Start and finishing Times**: 13:00-22:30 - flexibility required.
**Job description**:
Responsible to produce cores which are utilised in the manufacturing of high-quality ductile iron and steel castings for turbo/manifold and general engineering sectors to maintain the company’s high-quality standards.
**Essential requirements**:
Experience in foundry core-making practices/methods preferred. As a priority, working safely with tools and equipment with an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement. The role requires an attention to detail, thoroughness, and a degree of analytical thinking or problem solving. Excellent communication skills and ability to work on own initiative. Ability to read and follow production programs, work instructions and quality documents relevant to customer and internal requirements. Good written skills to record process and production information.
**Duties and responsibilities**:
Read and follow production and work-flow programs to meet demand and output requirements
**Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to**
Good communication skills and teamwork
Working safely and wearing the correct PPE at all times
Working safely with equipment
Follow and adhere to manual handling and lifting guidance
Ability to safely lift 25kgs and handle cores
Maintaining general housekeeping, cleanliness of core machines and tidy working areas
Safe handling of waste and spillages
Work on own initiative
Following any pre-use checks and shutdown processes
Safe operation of pneumatic equipment
Maintaining equipment in safe working condition
Reporting any concerns with equipment to supervision or management
Inspecting production equipment before use and reporting any concerns
Set-up equipment, input settings, position clamps and patterns
Reporting concerns with tooling condition
Maintain tool cleaning and preparation procedures.
Identification of core defects or non-conforming cores
Dressing cores, removing blow candles, and repairing surface imperfections
Venting cores according to work instructions if required
Utilise measuring equipment such as gauges or jigs when required
Promote ideas to optimise core mass/cost/productivity
Participate in the development and improvement of coreshop practices and procedures
Participate and feedback concerns with design and development of cast products, materials, testing and process studies
To ensure work is inspected according to company procedures and customer requirements
To follow and read work instructions, standards, and care points carefully
Reporting concerns which relate to increased processing time and reduce output
Reporting concerns with raw materials used within the process
To communicate with team members and supervision to ensure the area is working efficiently
Labelling, packing, packaging, storing or stowing cores in the correct areas
Maintaining core processing cards
Checking and maintaining material stock levels
Pay: £12.00-£13.00 per hour
