**Overview**

We’re currently looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Fares, Ticketing and Retail team.

**A bit about the team**

The Fares Ticketing and Retail (FTR) programme is fundamental towards creating a simpler and better railway experience for everyone in Britain. This is a once in a generation opportunity to significantly transform the customer experience by modernising ticketing, simplifying journeys, removing barriers, and ensuring people are charged fairly. We want to provide better travel information to help passengers whenever they need it throughout their journey and we’re working on improvements that give customers confidence when booking, making them feel valued for choosing rail.

**The job**

As the Senior Finance Business Partner for FTR, you will be responsible for providing expertise to leadership and business case teams through forecasting and analysing the cost and benefits of programme investment activities and their related impact on the industry Profit Loss.

You will proactively challenge plans and forecast submissions to understand the overall programme outlook, providing advice and new initiatives to save costs and be more efficient as an organisation. Simultaneously, you will be leading the financial reviews with internal GBRTT teams and external bodies, providing relevant insight and detail of financial outputs.

**What you’ll bring**
- Membership of a relevant accounting body (CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW) or equivalent experience
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills all levels. This should include Customers, 3rd party representatives, other business functional leaders, and key support personnel.
- Successful relevant experience working in a complex financial environment including demonstrable experience in managing business risks, professional financial control, and forward planning.
- Demonstrable record of budget management, governance, and ability to understand and interpret commercial and financial landscapes (budgets, forecasts, actual status).
- Significant experience in managing ambiguity in a financial environment with strong evaluation and decision-making skills.
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, for example accounting and finance, business management or equivalent demonstrable experience in finance

This role is available on a Fixed Term Contract or Secondment basis for 12 months.
