MUNCHFIT - CAFÉ SUPERVISOR

Title: Café Supervisor

Location: Munchfit Cafe

Hours of Work: As per business needs. Due to the nature of the business work schedules vary from time to time and flexibility within the rota may be required.

Responsible to: Food & Beverage Operations Manager, Café Manager

Responsible for: Team Leader, Café Assistant

Key communications: Company Owner, Director of Operations, Equinox Management, Equinox Team

Main Responsibilities and Duties.

Operations and Standards
- All work is executed in line with Company standards
- Manage and guide the Café team following standards, SOP manuals and direction from Café Manager and Food and Beverage Operations Manager.
- Prepare rotas ensuring excellent service and that staffing levels and cost are kept within budget and payroll expectations.
- Ensure the smooth running of the Café on a daily basis, delegating where appropriate and implementing pre and post-shift briefings and providing and recording feedback to the team.
- Liaise with Marketing department to ensure all promotions are fully understood and implemented.
- Attend and positively contribute to weekly strategy meetings with the Food & Beverage Operations Manager.
- Be responsible for F&B equipment reporting any defects.
- Handle all club members’ requests efficiently and professionally, following Company standards.
- Have a thorough knowledge of all food and beverage items sold in the Café
- Ensure that all standards of cleanliness, selection and staff friendliness are met and that a high mark is achieved in the monthly Equinox survey.
- Create action plan to rectify or improve on the result of the monthly Equinox survey.
- Protect personal data of club and team members following GDPR and PCI training.
- Have thorough knowledge of POS system and ensure that all orders are correctly inputted and charged.
- Always ensure high standard of cleanliness in the Café and Lounge.
- Periodically review all operational procedures to increase efficiencies and quality of standards, liaising with the Food & Beverage Operations Manager.
- Adhere to and maintain company rules on uniform and personal presentation standards for yourself and the Café Team.

Club members and team care
- Create an ongoing culture of care and satisfaction within the team
- Be friendly, courteous and helpful to club members, club staff, management and the rest of the team at all times.
- Ensure all requests are carried out in a timely, efficient and friendly manner.
- Understand the Club’s needs and ensure a good working relationship.
- Ensure all those within the Café team have knowledge of menus, beverages and other facilities within the Clubs.
- Have a thorough knowledge of monthly surveys’ results and share them with the team.
- Create weekly and monthly targets to focus the team on continual improvement in results, in line with departmental goals and actions.
- Develop a progressive and professional relationship with suppliers ensuring mutual respect is maintained.
- Actively seek verbal feedback from club members and act on feedback in a positive and constructive manner.
- Ensure all members’ complaints and negative feedback relating to the Café and its products are reviewed with the team, communicated to the Food & Beverage Operations Manager and resolved within a 24 hours period.
- Be friendly, supportive and caring at all times.
- Create connections with our regular guests.
- Always be there for other team members and guests whenever needed.
- To promote teamwork and care as instruments to reach the best guests experience.

Yours and the Team Development
- Ensure all Café teams are aware of their responsibilities and their roles in the Café
- Ensure all recruitment and selection, training and appraising of staff is carried out in line with Company standards and legal requirements.
- Complete all personal training to required deadlines as specified on Flow.
- Complete probationary reviews in line with Company standards, clearly identifying any learning or performance issues and implement and assist with any development training required.
- Ensure that all practical training and coaching is conducted with all team members.
- Complete twice-yearly job chats and annual appraisals of all team members following Company standards; Identify learning and development needs of the team and set goals accordingly.
- Conduct regular Café meetings, ensuring communication is effective and consistent and a two-way communication process.
- Promote a culture where ideas are welcome and implemented by managers and staff

Sales
- Identify and action any potential sales leads.
- To develop and implement up-sell and cross-sell at all times to increase the profitability of the Café.
- Working with the Food and Beverage Operations Manager and the Head of Marketing to assist in the development and implementation of the sales and marketing plan and ad-hoc activities to maximise the profitability of the Café.
