Great Bear** are a leading 3 PL UK Logistics Business providing nationwide dedicated and shared user warehousing and distribution solutions for international Blue Chip clients.

We are currently looking for experienced Shunter based at our **Port Salford** site.
**Shifts**:4 on 4 off - Nights
**Salary**:£33,686 pa

**Job Description**:
Working within the Transport Department, the main purpose of the role is to ensure a smooth transition when loading, unloading trailers, and ensuring maintenance and safety at all times.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Observing and adhering to company rules, site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all times
- Effectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
- Liaising with colleagues and ensuring completion of shift report
- Conducting daily checks, immediately reporting any defects and / or damage and completing associated documentation
- Carrying out trailer checks on loaded trailers and report to ops staff
- Completing trailer checklist and reporting to operations desk
- Carrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks
- Liaising with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading / unloading of trailers
- Completing vehicles downloads as per the company policy
- Monitoring services / MOTs - liaising with Transport Office and with service vendor
- Assisting with fuel delivery / manual dip of fuel
- Keeping yard in clean / tidy condition
- Liaising with Transport Office as and when required i.e. special promotions and / or delivery schedules
- Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard

**Qualifications**:

- Must hold a Class 1 Driving Licence
- Must possess a Digi-Card
- Current Driver CQC Card Required
- No more than 3 points on licence
