**Our client is a leading food manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK, this is one of their newer, flagship, growing operations. They are looking for an experiencedControls Engineer to look after all their site automation.**

**Role & Responsibilities**:

- Maintenance, installation, repair & commissioning of control & automation systems
- Find creative solutions to problems as they arise and assist in implementing new PPM plans
- Working on mainly Allen Bradley PLC's and some Schneider drives
- PLC - fault finding, modifications and alterations to programs
- Analyse plan processes and help make improvements
- Pass on knowledge to shift engineers to help them rectify breakdowns on control systems
- Control health checks on all automation on site, create plans, research new technologies and solutions, estimating costs and timescales for these projects
- Responsible for version control and tracking of software/hardware
- Work cross functionally as part of the day-to-day maintenance team
- Lead improvement activities on automated systems

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:

- Must have at least 5 years post apprenticeship experience as a controls engineer
- Able to create plans independently for upgrading and developing automation & control systems
- Ideally have worked in food manufacturing, or at least a FMCG environment
- Previously experience of creating plans for improvement projects
- Worked with Allen Bradley PLC's
- Must be able to carry out fault finding, modifications and alterations on PLC's
- Beneficial if dealt with Schneider drives previously
- Strong electrical & electronic skills - hands-on fault finding, commissioning, testing & inspection
- Ideally Degree qualified or similar qualifications in controls engineering
- Bonus if have 18th Edition, City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Engineering
- Must be passionate, organised, reliable, able to influence proactive change when needed
- Able to analyse and interpret automation systems data
- Familiar with RCA tools and machine condition monitoring
- Previously have used computer based maintenance management systems
- Must be an effective communicator across multi-discipline teams
