Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Construction Co-Ordinator to be engaged on a permanent basis in West Cumbria.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the production and delivery of construction work packs.
- Ensures that Construction work is controlled and that the setting to work process is followed assessing, authorising, maintaining and developing the competence (SQEP) of the supply chain.
- Supervise, guide and co-ordinate the supply chain
- Ensure that construction work is supervised, checked and accepted to the specific quality standard.
- Provide effective communication, liaise on interface working and ensure that overall site work is planned to achieve construction programme dates.
- Co-ordinate interfaces between the supply chain, designers, operators, work planners, occupiers and the Client at site level
- Ensure that the supply chain and their Supervisors are monitored on an ongoing basis
- Assist with input and maintenance of the Construction documentation
- Raise corrective actions and defect notifications and ensure that the correct action is taken.
- Take positive action to maintain security, safety, health and environmental arrangements to the highest possible standard.

**Qualifications, training and technical knowledge**

Degree/ONC/HNC/NVQ in relevant discipline

SMSTS site manager or equivalent

Experienced in setting contractors to work in a construction environment

Experienced in the day-to-day control, coordination and management of the works

- Ability to work in a team environment contributing across the project, site or area.
- Good supervision skills, with the ability to motivate self and small teams to perform specific tasks
- Good communication skills
- Good planning and time management skills
- Ability to contribute to meeting standards and specifications
- Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team
- Specialist knowledge in chosen field
- Good writing, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to handle situations and problems
- Know when to ask for help and guidance
