**Job summary**:

- This Army Welfare Service (AWS) Business Support Worker post offers the opportunity to work in a role that supports the wellbeing of soldiers and their families. AWS is the Army’s professional welfare provider, delivering a comprehensive and confidential welfare service responsive to the needs of individuals and families and the Chain of Command. AWS delivers Personal Support providing confidential and professional specialist welfare, and Community Support providing youth and community projects, and activities for children and young people. These delivery pillars are supported in delivering the service by the AWS Business Support team.
- This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.**Job description**:

- The Business Support Worker (BSW) provides support to the AWS Intake and Assessment Team (IAT) and is responsible to the Welfare Support Officer IAT in providing an effective and competent business support service for all business undertaken in support of AWS delivery staff.**Person specification**:

- This role is suited to a person with excellent attention to detail and a good level of administrative skills, with the ability to work without supervision as part of a wider AWS team.
- 1. Provide an effective and competent business support service to the Welfare Support Officer IAT, and AWS delivery staff for all AWS activities within the IAT, carrying out all general administrative duties to support team members in the delivery of the AWS service.
- 2. Be the initial point of contact for incoming calls from potential Service Users across the Army.
- 3. Ensure the team business support office meets and maintains standards in accordance with professional policy and practice standards.
- 4. Act as a local team administrator for Joint Army & Navy Information System (JANIS), receiving service user calls where relevant and recording written messages, processing forms and re-directing calls where appropriate to relevant AWW caseworkers.
- 5. Co-ordinate JANIS casefile administration inputting casework data as directed, undertaking case file transfer actions and distribute Support/Closure letters as appropriate.
- 6. Collate logs of service user calls received and transfers undertaken by AWWs for monthly reporting.
- 7. In consultation with the Area Business Support Manager, be responsible for ModNet user management ensuring transfer of data between operational systems as required.
- 8. Be a team point of contact for SharePoint, liaising with AWS Information Manager regarding updates and changes.
- 9. Provide support to the local Personal Support staff in handling of the PS casefile audits and destructions.
- 10. Provide support to the local Community Support staff in handling of the CS archives.
- 11. Liaise with the Area Business Support Manager, where required, in the recording of Disclosure & Barring Service checks in consultation with the relevant staff.
- 12. Act as point of contact to facilitate transport and travel booking requests, including the day to day administration of local AWS vehicles.
- 13. Act as point of contact for all team Authorised Demander and Local Security Officer issues.
- 14. Work in accordance with appropriate MOD policies and procedures, AWS Standard Operating Instructions and within the Army Code of Confidentiality.
- 15. Undertake other duties within the terms and conditions appropriate to the grade and role as directed by the Line Manager.**Behaviours**:
