Handy Person

Danygraig house care Home is looking to recruit an all-round handy person to help with daily mainentance tasks in and around our care home.

To be considered for this role, you will either have previous experience in a caretaking role or any handyperson position. Experience in general maintenance roles is desirable.

**Duties to Include**

To carry out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the building and its services to ensure that the Home is maintained in a safe, efficient and functional order.
- Conducting routine inspections of premises.
- Performing preventative maintenance and identifying when items need replacing.
- To Carry out general maintenance as required throughout the home, handling basic repairs and maintenance. Complete daily repairs/faults identified in maintenance log and staff.
- To ensure the Home is in good decorative order at all times.
- Weekly monitoring of temperatures on domestic hot water as part of anti-scald policy. Weekly flushing of infrequently used outlets as part of the Legionella management programme. Written records to be kept.
- Liaise with Water Management company for monthly contractor monitoring.
- To oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
- Painting and decorating as needed.
- Complete all relevant records, reports, documentation as per company policy.
- To attend all training sessions and complete mandatory in house training.
- To understand and ensure the implementation of the Health and Safety policy, Emergency and Fire Procedures.
- To understand and abide by all company policies.

Full driving licence required

To carry out gritting, salt spreading and snow clearing, as necessary, during bad weather.

We’re looking for someone with solid experience in maintenance, building, and DIY and the flexibility to support the service as and when needed.
