Requiring a respite carer for my nearly 12 year old daughter.

she has a rare chromosome disorder and is non-verbal (doesn’t sign yet), profoundly deaf but uses cochlear implant, has focal/absence seizures, can walk with support or with a walker for very short distance but uses a wheelchair for longer distances.

She has all fluids & medication through gastrostomy but eats solids orally. If you’re not already trained in gastrostomy feeding then I can arrange training.

Enhanced DBS is required and will need to be dated within 3 months or using the dbs update service.

Respite care will need to be either at your house or out and about. Use of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle is available and so to drive this you will need to be 25 & over. Any paid activities I can pay for plus any meals bought I will also pay for with a receipt.

£12ph roughly 4-6 hours every other weekend plus additional hours in the school holidays. Total of 136 hours a year
