Job Summary:
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council are seeking Seasonal General Attendants to join their team in ensuring the safe and orderly usage of facilities across Parks and Beaches throughout the Newry, Mourne, and Down District. As a Seasonal General Attendant, you will play a crucial role in supervising the public, maintaining facility cleanliness, enforcing regulations, and providing excellent customer service.

POST 1: 30 hours per week, with the possibility to increase to 36 hours at peak periods. Duties include car park management and customer service.

POST 2: 13 hours per week (Saturday and Sunday), with potential to increase to 36 hours. Responsibilities involve car park management, waste management, and customer service.

Your Duties:

- Instruct and supervise the public to ensure safe and orderly usage of facilities.
- Prevent unauthorised activities and ensure compliance with management procedures and Council Bye-Laws.
- Collect and secure monies following procedures, and maintain accurate records/reports.
- Report defects, perform general maintenance, cleaning duties, security/safety checks, and emergency repairs.
- Open and close facilities or premises, maintaining suitable conditions.
- Operate and use a range of tools, power tools, and plant equipment.
- Administer First-aid as needed.
- Adhere to Corporate policies and procedures at all times.
- A positive attitude and a passion for customer service.

Your Profile:

- Minimum 6 months of relevant experience working with the public, or 1 year of experience in lieu of GCSE passes.
- At least 6 months of previous experience of cash handling and record-keeping.
- Basic understanding of Health and Safety protocols and Manual Handling.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays from April to September.
- Access to transportation to fulfil the role's requirements.
- A current recognised First Aid certificate.
