Merchandiser (Hybrid)

We have an exciting opportunity to join our historic, heritage brands, including the Farnham Herald and Petersfield Post, as a merchandiser.

Mostly field based, alongside using Farnham office when needed, the focus is on building face-to-face relationships in the retail trade and growing newspaper sales.

This part-time role suits someone who is enthusiastic about product sales through retail, is outgoing, a good communicator, enjoys customer and colleague collaboration/teamwork alongside being able to analyse trends and use that knowledge to deliver better customer service and sales growth.

We will consider hours between min 10 and max 20 per week, £10-£12 ph hourly rate, plus mileage.

Monday-Wednesday-Thursday preferred days and flexible hours around times to suit the business and retail news trade needs. Ad hoc weekend work, for example attending shows, may be required.

**Main role and responsibilities include**:
**Manage retail/wholesale supply**
- Assist in managing print orders to sales efficiency (waste) and availability targets
- Assist in managing sales v returns - analyse weekly data, report as required
- Analyse sales trends from wholesaler supplied data
- Top ups - assess and manage as required
- Box outs - assess and manage as required
- Assist in managing transport and distribution

**Manage store marketing/identify opportunities**
- Point of sale to include: product positioning and display
- Arrange in-store sales support and similar events
- Identify retailer refurbishments, openings or closures
- Work with Publisher on retailer incentives
- Work with Publisher on promotions, competitions and offers

**Skills**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
