**About the Role**:
The main purpose of the role is to ensure residents receive high quality care and support, including support with planning and administering medication, in accordance with their assessed needs.

The role requires you to assist the residents with tasks of daily living such as personal care and mobility, and end of life care, as directed by care plans.

Support residents to take their medication as prescribed and recorded in the individual Medication Administration Record.

Ensure residents have companionship and social, emotional and leisure support in accordance with their wishes and the care plans, wishes and feelings.

Work in accordance with the CQC standards and regulations, to ensure delivery of high-quality care and services

Your will be required to support your own professional development, access training and courses as required.

You will be required to attend regular supervision sessions with the Home Manager, to ensure you are being supported in your role, are a competent worker and identify any learning or training needs.

**Principle tasks will include**:
Summary of responsibilities for this role will include,
- Ensuring the smooth running of the shifts, meeting the care of the residents
- Support with personal care, ensuring privacy, dignity, independence and safety are maintained
- Respecting choices and empowering the individuals to live a life led by them
- Working with honesty
- Ensuring residents are comfortable and content and supported to take part in activities indoors and outdoors
- Supporting with new assessments, admissions, discharge and ongoing assessments of all residents
- General household duties such as cleaning resident’s rooms and the home
- Spending quality time with residents
- Have a flexible approach to duties working as part of a team and on own initiative
- Preparing and serving meals/snacks as required
- Complete necessary recording keeping such as logs, care plans and risk assessments
- Assist with medication administration, and ensuring accurate record keeping
- Ensure that day-to-day tasks and routines are carried out to contribute to the smooth running of the service as a whole
- Liaising with any professionals as required
- Ensuring all recording keeping is accurate and completed each shift to a good standard
- Any additional duties delegated by the Home Manager
- Leading in the absence of the Home Manager
- Any other duties that may be required

The role is responsible to the Home Manager/Operations Manager.

**Essential ** **Desirable**
Attainments, **Good numeracy and literacy skills ** NVQ Level 4 in Care (or higher) or equivalent
- Woking towards Level 4 in

Experience & **NVQ Level 3 in Care Care**
- Experience of working

Qualifications **Experience of the principles of ** within care plans
Experience of working with residents in care
- Knowledge of moving and handling procedures and
- Understanding of the principles **basic hygiene regulations of equality, diversity and anti
