As a Yard Marshall, you will play a vital role in overseeing the organisation and safety of the back store canopy area and the adjacent yard. Your role will involve enforcing health and safety requirements, coordinating deliveries, unloading, and storing raw materials, appliances and any other materials being delivered, and providing assistance to the Stores as required. Your keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to multitask will contribute to the overall operational effectiveness of the yard.

**Responsibilities**
- Health and Safety Compliance_

Enforce and ensure adherence to all applicable health and safety requirements in the back store canopy area and the adjacent yard. This includes monitoring lighting, access, egress and other safety measures to guarantee a safe working environment.
- Delivery Compliance_

Ensure both JTC and external delivery personnel comply fully with the applicable health and safety requirements. Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance and address any non-compliance issues promptly.
- Unloading and Storage_

Oversee the unloading and storage of raw materials and parcel deliveries in the designated areas. Coordinate with delivery personnel to ensure efficient and accurate unloading as well as the appropriate storage of items.
- Documentation Management_

Retain all delivery paperwork and ensure it is given to or saved for the relevant member of staff. Keep organised records of deliveries, including invoices, picking lists and delivery notes, for reference and auditing purposes.
- Delivery Notifications_

Inform relevant staff members promptly about requested deliveries, providing them with accurate and timely information. Coordinate with Stores personnel to ensure they are aware of incoming deliveries to allow them to plan their activities accordingly.
- Communication_

Maintain clear and effective communication channels with those working within the area, as well as colleagues, delivery drivers and other stakeholders. Provide instructions, directions, and assistance as necessary ensuring smooth operations and timely completion of tasks.
- Assistance to Stores Staff_

Aid and support to Stores staff as required and when requested collaborating with them to meeting operational needs.

**APPLICANTS SHOULD IDEALY COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS**:
**Qualifications**
- None are essential, however Maths, English and being computer literate would be an advantage
- RTITB/CTITB Forklift Driving Qualification - essential

**Experience**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of stock/inventory control
- Supervisory experience

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £22,000.00 per year
