Materials Buyer

You’ll be working within a small team under the supervision of a seasoned purchasing manager, so you’ll have some great support and mentorship of someone with a wealth of experience. This will require you to use your technical knowledge and commercial skills to build robust relationships with not only key suppliers. You can expect it to be a busy sub contract environment and a varied role with no day being the same, so it will be very rewarding.

**The role**
The focus will be on purchasing of raw materials used for the machine shop, majority of which is from a few key suppliers but you will be free to establish new relationships if there is commercial opportunity to do so. They have a mature supply chain and have systems in place so far from chaotic, it will be more maintenance and interrogating in terms of systems and procedures. Naturally, there will be a technical element to the role with the nature of the business, but there is the support of the team if you feel you’re in need of some help.

**The company**
They are an established sub contract manufacturer who have gone through a re-vamp in recent years that have earnt themselves a great reputation within the Automotive and Motorsport industries for their work. As a business they have some ambitious growth plans lead by a team of senior managers with which this position will play a key role in. You can expect a friendly team and a nice working environment that has been recently re-furbished with gym, kitchen and modern meeting rooms.

- Previous purchasing experience
- Ability to interpret an engineering drawing
- Previous ERP system experience
