As Assistant Buyer, you will work in support of your Buyer in the sourcing, development and selection of product in line with strategy and plan.

You will have the opportunity to work with highly prestigious items as part of the Ernest Jones Bridal team, giving you great experience with a very unique and exciting product category.

Role responsibilities:

- Review sales and product performance to initiate proposals, drive sales and improve profitability.
- Prepare product and supporting information for sign offs and business reviews.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal departments and external suppliers.
- Participate in meetings with the Buyer ensuring the appropriate preparation is undertaken.
- Conduct competitive shops, competitor range audits and prepare analysis of findings.
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of all systems, processes and procedures.
- Supervise workload and assist with the training and development of the Buyer’s Administrator.
- Deputise for the Buyer and undertake other duties/projects as required.

About you:

- Demonstrable knowledge of the buying process and good commercial awareness.
- Strong organisational skills with proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong eye for detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Proven negotiation skills
- Experience with jewellery, fashion or accessories would be an advantage.
