AWE are looking for a Category Manager to help us deliver our mission to keep our country safe and secure.

This position will focus on Capital Investment projects covering construction, asset replacements & refurbishment, or site infrastructure improvements.

As a Category Manager (Procurement Manager), you will implement Category Management, Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management for assigned categories, in order to leverage and secure AWE supplier base to support its current and future businessrequirements, whilst mitigating risks.

Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area

Salary starting from £42,000 to £65,000 dependant on experience

Key to the role will be the ability to follow a structured procurement process, lead on compiling tender documentation and commercial/contract strategies, embedding lessons learnt, analysing submissions, negotiating with suppliers and making award recommendations.

We would like you to have experience of:

- Working at a similar level within a comparable organisation or industry
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex contractual arrangements
- Strategic category management
- Building great relationships with key stakeholders to manage their expectations and understand their priorities
- Pricing arrangements E.G. target cost incentive fee
- Intellectual Property Rights, Trade Controls and Earned Value Management
- Preparing tender packages, conducting tender conferences, developing evaluation criteria, analysing and evaluating proposals, negotiating subcontract provisions, subcontractor selection
- Working within a Procurement Function
- Delivering change programmes
- Working in cross-functional teams across multiple programmes
