**Job Description - Key Person**

Layston Preschool and Nursery CIC, Buntingford, Herts is a PVI Setting. Our setting is a Community Investment
Company (CIC) supporting families in and around Buntingford with wrap-around care. We are a non-profit organisation and all profit made is invested back into the setting.

The setting has a friendly environment with a team of eight staff. The setting is within a school, operating in term time only. We currently provide a morning nursery session (Mon - Fri) from 8.45 am to 11.45 am and an afternoon preschool session (Mon - Thurs) 12.45 - 3.15 pm.

The successful applicant will be required to work around 30+ hours, Monday to Thursday 8.15 am - 3.30 pm and Friday 8.15 - 11.45 am. Pay £11 per hour.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**

In co-ordination with the Leader and other senior staff you will be required to:

- Help staff and support children’s learning and all-round development
- Know and support the policies and procedures of the setting
- Work flexibly and co-operatively within the team
- Be a Key Person for a group of children

**ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Attend to the health, welfare and safety of the children at all times
- Build positive relationships with children and their families
- Help to provide appropriate activities for young children to promote their learning and development in an involving, playful way
- To complete individual learning journals for key children, recording significant developments in their learning and identifying and planning for next steps in learning and development
- Support every child, as a unique child, through responding to interests and fascination through play activities
- Provide rich language opportunities for all children
- Provide additional support according to each individual child’s needs
- Help to maintain inclusive, enabling environments with regard to cleanliness, tidiness and organisation
- Maintain the safeguarding of children at all times, in line with settings policies
- Help children with nappy changing and self-care skills
- Attend training and team meetings, to enhance professional and personal development
- Work at all times within the guidelines of current setting policies
- Build appropriate professional relationships with all parents
- Carry out any further additional tasks as required by your line manager

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £11.00 per hour
