**Job Description & Program Overview**

Our Global Information Security (GIS) apprentice programme starts in September 2023. You will join in a full-time role whilst studying for a three-year Digital Technology Degree.

You’ll spend most of your time working alongside experienced colleagues, learning relevant and valuable skills, contributing to exciting projects whilst being exposed to cutting-edge technology and see directly how first-class organisations operate systems. For the remainder of your time, you’ll follow an established Cyber Security learning pathway with our trusted partner based in Manchester, **graduating after three years with a Degree in Digital and Technology Solutions.**

Apprentices evolve during the programme based on their career aspirations and depending on how quickly their technical and soft skills develop. We encourage apprentices to take advantage of employee networks, mentorship and all other resources made available to them to accelerate their career.

As an apprentice, you will join one of our teams in GIS EMEA. Depending on the team you join your key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Supporting GIS functions analyzing, researching, improving, defining, implementing, and executing information security controls and standards
- Supporting team members performing specialised GIS functions
- Responding and performing triage Incidents
- Partnering and developing key relationships with response teams of Cyber Security Operations (CSO)
- Monitoring event queues and investigating and analysing security alerts
- Monitoring existing and proposed security standard setting groups
- Performing vulnerability fix verification testing in support of the remediation
- Providing technical support to clients, management and staff throughout risk assessments and the implementation of appropriate data security procedures and products
- Sharing knowledge with technical and non-technical colleagues directly and through training sessions
- Ensuring identified risks are managed effectively

**Essential and desired competencies**

As the successful applicant, you will be able to:

- Show demonstrable evidence of self-learning outside of studies, and efforts to advance technical skills
- Display clear motivation for exploring a Technology career within financial services, and a specific interest in Information Security
- Demonstrate capacity for innovative thinking and strong problem solving
- Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with a variety of people
- Display evidence of strong team-work and leadership
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
- Demonstrate integrity and ethics by earning other’s trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions
- Will be advantageous if there is demonstrable coding experience in an object oriented programming language.

**Eligibility requirements**

To be eligible for the GIS apprentice programme, you must:

- Hold or predicted to achieve at least 3 A levels/BTEC or equivalent with a minimum of 104 UCAS points
- Have at least a grade C or 5 in Maths and English Language GCSE (4 will not be accepted) or equivalent
- Been a resident of the UK for the past 3 years
- Not in full-time education when starting the apprenticeship
- Have the right to work and remain in the UK indefinitely
- Spend at least 50% of your working hours in England over the duration of the apprenticeship
- Have not completed a qualification or apprenticeship at the same level or higher which provided you with substantially the same skills or training as you would gain through this apprenticeship with Bank of America
