Murray McIntosh is delighted to be supporting The Investment Association with the recruitment of a Policy Advisor within their Stewardship and Corporate Governance directorate.

The IA champions UK investment management, supporting savers, investors and businesses, with a membership base representing £9.4 trillion of assets and an industry supporting 114,000 jobs across the UK. Building the industry's capabilities in stewardship,sustainability & responsible investment is a key pillar of the IA's strategy**.**

We're looking for someone who is passionate about the role of stewardship to promote sustainable value on behalf investors and savers. You'll need to be a confident communicator, who can work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver severalfast paced and high-profile projects.

Contributing to all the team's objectives with a particular focus on reporting and auditing objectives, touching on key areas such as Environmental, Social Governance the incumbent will:

- Lead the delivery of specific projects and research to enhance the reputation of IA members as long-term responsible investors.
- Identify and produce responses to policy consultations on Stewardship and ESG issues.
- Develop and review the IA's guidelines for UK Plcs, representing investor expectations on a wide range of stewardship and ESG issues.
- Work closely with the IA's Corporate Governance Research Unit, IVIS, to conduct thematic research and support the use of research on listed companies in the development and promotion of the IA's policy positioning.
- Engage with policy makers and other key stakeholders to represent IA member views on stewardship and corporate governance.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- a strong understanding for policy and the policy-making processes
- a demonstrable understanding of investment, financial services and/or ESG. Working knowledge of the regulatory environment for Stewardship and Corporate Governance is desirable.
- to be an excellent communicator, with an excellent command of written and spoken English
- a proactive, determined and enthusiastic approach to work and the industry
- to have strong people skills with a collaborative mindset
- excellent and demonstrable time management skills.

The office is based in London with hybrid working available.
