We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Temporary HR Officer to join our HR team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support throughout the recruitment process, managing employee life cycle activities, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.

This role is for 12 weeks and paying from £15.60 p/hr + Holiday Pay.

**Duties**:
**Recruitment**:

- Advise on university recruitment policies and ensure adherence to guidelines.
- Collaborate with academics and managers to craft engaging job adverts and descriptions.
- Coordinate with research and finance teams to ensure funding and follow recruitment processes.
- Source optimal recruitment campaign placements and manage recruitment processes using CoreHR.

**Employee Life Cycle**:

- Maintain accurate employee records and conduct inductions and contract briefings.
- Manage fixed-term contract processes and maintain leave and sickness databases.
- Provide support for maternity/paternity leave and resignation processes.
- Support employees throughout the employment lifecycle and provide guidance on HR processes.

**Visitors**:

- Ensure completion of visitor administration and agreements.

**Other Duties**:

- Maintain personnel files and support HR team members during busy periods.
- Assist with case work and support departmental initiatives and projects.
- Collect and analyse HR data for reporting purposes.
- Undertake relevant project work and provide training on new processes.
- Support academic recruitment processes and ensure compliance with right to work checks.
- Communicate effectively with staff and uphold customer service standards.
- Stay updated on university policies and GDPR compliance.
- Engage in continuous professional development and participate in the PDR process. Undertake any other duties as required.**Essential Criteria**
- Educated to A Level standard or currently holds or working towards CIPD Level 3 (e.g. Certificate in Personnel Practice or Foundation Diploma in HR Practice)
- Previous HR experience or relevant experience with responsibility for complex administrative processes.
- Good IT Skills, using Microsoft Office (including E-mail, Word, Excel and the Internet).
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with staff at
- all levels including demonstrating the ability to be professional, approachable and tactful.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with external and internal stakeholders and deliver high customer service standards.
- Demonstrable ability to use own initiative and work independently but knowing when to seek further advice.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including experience of working collaboratively within a successful team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous tasks whilst still ensuring deadlines are met and tasks completed.
- An adaptable and flexible approach but with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interest in HR with high self-motivation. Awareness of data protection and information security guidelines.
