Are you looking for a role where you can be busy, work with people, and help them work safely and in a sustainable environment?
This business manufactures a range of items that are installed across a range of sites, including leading sports stadiums, leisure centres, schools, and retail outlets.
The Health, Safety and Environment Manager is currently doing everything on her own, so is looking for an Assistant. You will be involved with a range of things, for example:
- Helping and guiding different departments of the business with setting up risk assessments.
- Supporting Managers when an accident happens, making sure everything is reported and investigated properly.
- Engaging staff with newsletters and mailshots.
It’s a hands-on role and you won’t be at your desk much, though there will be regular reports to produce.
There is also a big focus on sustainability and working towards meeting Net Zero targets, and you can play a big part in this. A consultancy is guiding the business towards getting a certification, and as part of this you can manage a range of projects.
For example, sustainability champions are being appointed in each department, and you can help to upskill them and show them what they can do in their department. Also, there is an energy saving project related to solar panels.
You will have the opportunity to work towards qualifications such as NEBOSH; and as the business is ISO accredited, you will see how this works in relation to auditing, processes, etc.
You will be able to use your continuous improvement mindset to come up with suggestions for improving processes and ways of working.
There is some flexibility in degree type, though something with a relation to any of the key areas is preferred.
Monday to Friday 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. There is a 2 week shutdown at Christmas.
The offices are in north-east Coventry, near to the M6 so is commutable from areas including Rugby, south Leicester, Hinckley. Nuneaton, and east-Birmingham.
