JOB PURPOSE

To carry out a van selling role for our products in various stores across Northern Ireland. This role will involve covering for holidays and sickness for various van sales routes within various cells. The role will require a flexible approach to work, as you may be assigned to different routes on daily, weekly or monthly bases.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pre-journey checks - It is important that enough time is allowed for checking vehicles prior to the commencement of all journeys as detailed in the driver handbook. The Company recognises that checks are crucial and health and safety comes first. The driver will be expected to explain any unnecessary delays.
- Duties at point of delivery - The Company along with the driver’s Health and Safety Officers will implement a full Safety Review to assess the possibility of the drivers using the Dock Levellers and Scissor Lifts at stores. If safe working practices can be agreed, a driver’s duty at point of delivery will then include use of this equipment.
- Self Presentation - As representatives of the company whilst driving on the public highway and interacting with customers, all drivers will present themselves in uniform and be of smart, clean and presentable appearance. Persistent failure to do so may result in disciplinary action being taken.
- Route Timeliness - Drivers are expected to complete the route profile with an efficient, careful and courteous driving style according to nominal route timings allocated to ensure on time customer deliveries. Any unavoidable delays should be reported. Tachograph and working time laws take priority and all breaks requirements must be complied with.
- Sales Performance - The convenience sector is serviced via a Van Sales operation and underpinned by a commercial strategy with various supporting driver KPI’s e.g. core range listing, product stock out, sales maximisation, point of sale / off shelf displays, etc.

Functional/Operational Responsibilities:

- Merchandising - Drivers are expected to merchandise product in stores appropriately
- Stock Management - responsibility for managing waste levels, returns, sales etc
- Fixture Management - responsibility for fixture management strategies as instructed by management of route
- Core Range Compliance - Ensure that standard of compliance set by management of route
- Customer Services - as a representative of Hovis Limited always demonstrate excellent customer services, through excellent communication skills to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external customers
- Flexible Approach - always have a flexible approach to work to reflect the needs of the business
- KPI Reporting - ensure accurate and timely reporting on all KPIs set by management
- Management Briefings - attending management briefings as and when required in a timely and professional manner
- Legally Compliant - Ensure that you adhering to all legal standards, internal polices and procedure at all times

KNOWLEDGE & SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS

Essential
- Full Clean Driving Licence Category C1
- Past experience of muli-drops
- Pervious IT experience
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills

Desirable
- Driving Licence Category C
- Handset Experience
