Auction Assistant

We are looking for a highly motivated auction assistant to join our auction team in central Harrogate. As a saleroom assistant, you will be involved in setting up auctions and ensuring that the saleroom runs smoothly. The saleroom is fast-paced and would be ideal for someone who thrives on a challenge; a flexible team player ready to roll up their sleeves and get the job done.

**Key **Responsibilities

Unloading vans when goods arrive and tagging each consignment with a unique vendor reference number.
Carefully unpacking boxes and moving furniture within the saleroom.
Taking photographs of auction lots for use on our bidding platforms.
Providing help and assistance to clients on viewing and auction days.
Collecting purchases from the saleroom for successful bidders.

Will be a bright and personable team player with a ‘can do’ attitude.
Be enthusiastic and eager to learn new skills.
Have a keen eye for detail.
Be confident in working to tight deadlines.
Have the ability to anticipate problems before they arise.

**Skills Needed**
This role involves moving large, heavy pieces of furniture and other items. Stamina and experience in manual handling are a must.
Our auctions are online and images of each lot are uploaded to the bidding platforms. You will have a good eye for detail and be able to take well presented photographs of auction lots.
You will be meticulous and have good literacy and numeracy skills.

**Details Of The Position.**
This role is saleroom based. The hours are Monday to Friday from 9am until 5: 30pm with an hour for lunch.
Occasionally, when we have a specialist auction, we will ask you to work a Saturday.
A flexible approach to working hours is essential as pre-sale preparation and sale days will often require a later finish.
You will be enrolled into the Peoples Pension Scheme.
