Steel 4 Structures Limited have been supplying structural steel since 2011. We operate a full turnkey service from design, processing, fabrication, welding, painting, transport, erection to handover to client. We use robots and CNC equipment to cut all parts in our production facility and utilise our experienced fabricators and welders to create structural steel items.
Due to growth in the business, we are looking for an experienced RWC & Quality Inspector to join our growing team to take ownership of this role.
You will be supported and work alongside production and operations management and take ownership of the Quality Assurance and Responsible Welding Coordinator role to deliver multiple projects accurately and efficiently. Daily fabrication and visual welding inspections will also take place alongside ensuring all relevant documents are filled in and filed against each project. Paint quality inspections and will also form part of the role where relevant training will be provided using the latest technology on the market.
**The job responsibilities will include**:
- Performs daily / routinely scheduled dimension inspections, ensuring appropriate measures are applied within the Welding and Production areas
- Ensures technical reviews and review of requirements have been completed for each project and other relevant documentation.
- Ensures WPS’s, WPQR’s, and essential documentation is maintained and available to welding personnel
- Ensures there is full traceability on all projects
- Plan and organise any NDT that is required for a project.
- Plan and allocate qualified personnel to projects
- Develops and maintain performance tracking documents
- Supports the Production Manager, to maintain quality requirements, and data reporting
- Raise and document any non conformaties.
- Ensures all plant and equipment is in calibration and validation
- Maintains and reviews weld personnel competency matrixes to ensure appropriate skill sets and competencies are readily available.
- Supports appropriate allocation of qualified welding personnel for the specific tasks
- Supports welding personnel with preparation for complex tasks
- Monitors appropriate maintenance of plant and equipment, tools, and general housekeeping
- Coordinates / performs 'Pre, Interim, and Post’ weld inspection and testing of parts and assemblies, prior to presenting to Quality Control
- Work in close liaison with Managers e.g. Contracts, Estimating, Production and Designers
- Ensuring all quality documents are in place and visual inspections to ensure correct despatch of items
- Prepare and lead all quality audits on behalf of the company

**RWC & Quality Inspector desired skills and experience**:
- Significant experience, within a metal fabrication and assembly environment
- Current experience of working with EN1090-1:2009 Requirements for Conformity Assessment of Structural Components
- Held a similar position and relevant industry experience within an engineering environment
- Audit Experience with a track record
- Effectively leading, managing, and development of personnel / teams
- Application of numerical and IT skills, and proficient with the use of Microsoft Windows packages
- Maintaining systems and ensuring all equipment and welding staff are in date against their WPS, WPQ and WPQR
- Strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in operating at a strategic level
- Prioritise and perform duties to meet with the business demands and requirements, whilst under minimum supervision
- Quality aware and experience of working within a customer focused environment
- Good communication skills with attention to detail

**Benefits**:
45 hours per week at £16.50 per hour.
Basic Salary of £38,610.00
Overtime available paid at time plus 1.5
£16.50 x 1.5- Overtime Rate of £24.75 per hour
example salary: 60 hour week (including overtime) £57,915.00 per annum.
Interview will include a trade test.
