**Reports to**

Andrew Aiginin

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate closely with experts in the fields of biology and machine learning to discover and develop novel algorithms for designing protein drugs
- Perform feature selection and feature engineering to represent biopolymers in neural network models
- Validate generative models and evaluate protein binding affinity, activity, stability, and other properties
- Conduct research and develop algorithms for predicting protein properties
- Create algorithms and models for optimizing and evaluating generated proteins

**General Requirements**:
**I. Education**

Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree/PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Chemoinformatics, Structural biology, Computational biology.

**II. Experience and Skills
- Background in Computational Chemistry, Structural Biology, Biophysics, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in protein engineering projects (design and optimization of biologics)
- Familiarity with or expertise in biomolecular free energy, stability, thermostability, etc. calculations.
- Experience with protein-protein docking algorithms and software, as well as knowledge and understanding of the algorithms themselves.
- Proficiency in Python, Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Git, PyMol, Biopython, Prody, and protein design and evaluation software.
- Knowledge of a software development pipeline, specifically GitLab.
- The ability to quickly test hypotheses with prototypes.
- The ability to work autonomously and successfully as part of a team.
- Knowledge and understanding of deep learning concepts and algorithms would be advantageous.

**III. Desirable skills**
- Experience with chemoinformatics and CADD.
