People/Management Excellence To participate on departmental and governmental initiative. Provide an expert level of supervision to junior colleagues. Adhere to all hospital procedures and ensure that all staff comply with them. Manage the department ensuring that problems with patient flow are identified early and acted on promptly.

Monitor and supervise the standard of nursing care undertaken by staff and to participate in the development of staff. Participate in the management of formal and informal complaints. To ensure government targets are adhered to work alongside the trackers to meet four-hour target. To help create a positive working environment for all members of the health care team, always promoting positive working practices.

To attend and participate in departmental meetings, helping implement change as required. Professional Responsibilities To accept personal responsibility for identifying own educational needs and professional development. To assist with teaching, mentoring, and the supervision of staff, thus actively participating in maintaining a positive clinical learning environment. To advise patients, where appropriate on the promotion of health and the prevention of illness and accidents.
