Our client, based in Derby, is looking for a Full-Time/Permanent Quantity Surveyor to join their busy and thriving team.
The Job Description is as follows:
- To manage costs and report on project expenditure
- To produce client valuations monthly for payment
- To produce internal valuations for cross checking with directors on profits and losses
- To liaise with commercial director on land viabilities to procure new project
- To help assistant quantity surveyor with their tasks and assure guidance where required
**Role Requirements**:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience within the housing sector. (Essential)
- Experience of providing pre-contract support e.g. compilation of works information, preparation of ITTs, tender evaluations, negotiations, contract award etc.
- Knowledge and/or experience of contract strategy e.g. adapting / developing standard forms of contract to meet client requirements.
- Demonstrable experience of administering contracts. This will include notification processes, assessment of additional works, contractual correspondence etc.
- Ability to effectively manage your time and adapt to changing priorities as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
- Negotiation skills - with subcontractors and others
- Construction Knowledge - materials, trade working knowledge and construction costs
- English & Maths GSCE
- Quantity Surveying & Construction Management degree or equivalent.
