Plymouth, United Kingdom Practice Plus Group Full time

**About The Role**:
Healthcare Assistants at Practice Plus Group come from all walks of life. Many have no, or mínimal, experience, but are keen to explore a career in care, while many already have invaluable experience. What they all have in common is the right values. They’re adaptable, friendly, polite and caring. They enjoy working as a team with people from different cultures and backgrounds. And, they consider it a privilege to be trusted to look after others. Do you share these values? Then we could have just the role for you.

As an Outpatients HCA in our Emerson's team you’ll be responsible for coordinating the patient lists and activities including teaching, administration, stock control and equipment maintenance. Above all, you have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling and want to work in an environment where the work can be hard, but also fun and rewarding.

**About You**:
Having already achieved your BLS certificate you will be willing to compete your NVQ level 3 if you haven’t already and it would be an advantage if you have worked in acute healthcare environment. More important though is your flexibility, your knowledge of infection control, belief in teamwork and your ability to use your initiative, follow instructions and prioritise a busy workload.

Clinically you will be expected to participate in the assessment of patients visiting the department pre or post operatively. Perform Wound assessments and dressings when trained under supervision on post-operative patients. Be able to perform phlebotomy/swab taking and ECG as part of pre-operative assessment, in addition to various other clinical tasks.

**About Us**:
Working at Practice Plus Group everything we do is focused on providing a high standard of safe and effective patient care. When you’re part of the Practice Plus Group team, you don’t just have a job. You have a career. We work with you to help you grow in your role and take your career in the direction you want to go. If you want to move up the ladder, we’ll support you. If you just want to stay in your role, that’s fine too. We’ll help you be the best you can be.

We want our team members to feel motivated and rewarded. So we offer a competitive package of pay and benefits. We also recognise the value of a healthy work-life balance - so we always try to be flexible, helping you fit your working life around your home life.
