In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring effective management of the waste contractor across 8 UK sites. You will lead and manage the Waste operations teams, ensure compliance with legislation and contract obligations, and undertake site waste audits. Additionally, you will interact with the ESG & Compliance Manager to develop Environmental services solutions for our clients.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- The collection, recording and assessment of environmental information and its dissemination
- Understanding waste volumes and identifying where opportunities to reduce waste at source exist
- Ensure the waste process and operations delivered by Sodexo and its supply chain are compliant and in line with the relevant regulations and operating procedures
- Ensure effective management of the waste contractors across this global pharma contract
- Ensure contractors’ compliance with legislation and contract obligations
- Invoice assessment and approval
- Undertaking site and supplier waste audits
- Data management and assessment
- Interact with the wider Sodexo team at site and country levels to leverage best practice and innovation across Sodexo service lines, where environmental services interact
- Ensure appropriate succession and talent development plans are in place for the environmental services team
- Ensure services are managed in accordance with ISO 14001 accreditation and associated systems on site
- Ensure Waste, Environmental compliance performance and sustainability support progress is reported regularly and clearly to relevant stakeholders
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You will have a proven track record in managing waste operations and ensuring compliance and meeting contractual obligations. You will be highly proficient in data management and assessment and have a strong understanding of the regulatory requirements for waste management. You will have excellent leadership and communication abilities, with the ability to drive results and influence others while delivering high-quality services to our clients
You will also have:
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical sector, advantageous but not essential
- Contract management experience advantageous, but not essential
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and partners.
RENUMERATION
The salary is between £53,000pa - £57,000pa plus excellent benefits
