Principal Scientist

**Job Title: Principal Scientist - Advanced Drug Delivery**

**Vacancy Type: Permanent**

**Salary: £45,000 - £65,000/annum (depending on experience)**

**Location: Middlesbrough Area, NE of England**

We are currently looking for a Principal Scientist to join an innovative biopharmaceutical partner, who are expanding due to ongoing success. The Principal Scientist will act as the technical lead for large and complex projects within nano-pharmaceuticalsand other drug delivery system-based projects.

**The main duties and responsibilities will include**:

- Lead, plan, and deliver projects, working as part of a technical team, to support the process development and scale-up of drug products using advanced drug delivery systems.
- Co-ordinate and motivate teams, including supervising and supporting staff in technical delivery and knowledge development.
- Keep up to date with new technological developments within advanced drug delivery.
- Support the business development/bid-development team in scoping and drafting proposals, and design projects for clients.

The successful Principal Scientist will be educated to a degree level (or higher, or equivalent), within a relevant scientific discipline (i.e., pharmacology, drug discovery, drug development, colloid science or chemistry) with significant technical experience.They will also hold significant knowledge and experience in advanced drug delivery and formulation, process development, and scale-up, as well as working with nano-pharmaceutical products and colloids.
