Butchery Chargehand

Within our Butchery Department we are looking for talented people to join our team to fill a number of Chargehand vacancies. Assisting the relevant departmental Supervisor with overseeing the daily running of the Department the key responsibilities include:

- Motivating your team to produce quality products.
- Maintainin high level of production standards.
- Meet production efficiency targets.
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and correct.
- Report and resolve machine issues quickly, advising the Engineering Department of work requirements.
- Ensure areas are kept tidy and clean at all times and maintain good housekeeping standards.
- Assist with any audits that are carried out in the department - e.g. customer visits.
- Carry out routine inspection of your area and any equipment in your charge and report any maintenance requirements, deficiencies or recommendations for improvements.
- Record all information relating to bonus and overtime payments in such a way as to ensure accuracy and fairness in those payments.
- Be able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
- Have an understanding of run rates, yields and good manufacturing practices.
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Have knowledge and experience of working with food production machinery.
- Have Health & Safety awareness.
- Have COSHH awareness.

Hours will be 45 hours per week working on a rotating pattern of the following hours:

- Shift A: Monday to Friday from 5:45am - 3:30pm
- Shift B: Monday to Friday from 7:45am - 5:30pm

There may be time where we require flexibility with these shifts which will be agreed with your line manager on a case-by-case basis.
