Kilmarnock, United Kingdom East Ayrshire Churches Homelessness Action (SCIO) Full time

EACHa is a charity, comprising 22 churches, all working together to assist the most marginalised in our community. Our aim is to prevent or reduce homelessness, and to help people achieve a better future. Our motto, Each Person Matters.

Our main activity is Community Friends, a twice weekly one-stop drop-in, where men and women find food, fun, friendship and access to professional services on the premises. Help is available on housing, mental and physical health, addiction, benefits and debt. Everyone is treated with respect, no-one judged.

In the summer of 2020, we began Friendly Fresh Start, where we provide, on referral from support workers, essential household items to people moving from temporary to permanent accommodation, and who, for a variety of reasons, do not have the means to purchase these themselves. Again, the aim is to prevent repeat homelessness.
