Bournemouth University Business School is a dynamic AACSB-accredited School with strong commitments to addressing the UNSDGs in our education, research and professional practice. As an internationally prominent, nationally recognised, and regionally embedded Business School, we play a key role in preparing tomorrow’s leaders to bring humanity to business. We are driven to create the best possible environment in our globally accredited business school that supports our mission to ‘inspire people and organisations to grow in a responsible and empathetic way through a fusion of innovative education, research and practice’. Our purpose is to act as a Connected Hub to ‘make a difference’ through our students, graduates, staff and our regional, national and international networks.

Our Small Business Charter Award reflects our ongoing commitment to the significant local and regional business community. The Business School’s global accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), enables collaboration with similar institutions, strategizing with our contemporaries and the sharing of expertise. We continue to build on our strong research impact agenda, which underpins our work in Finance and Economics, Banking and Taxation, Marketing and Consumer Behaviour, Leadership and Management, Inclusive and Responsible Business Practice, Digitality, Food Security & Health, and the Future of Work. We are home to research centres in Sustainable Business Transformation, Sustainable and Socially Responsible Consumption; Disaster Management; Sport, Inclusivity and Wellbeing; and Tourism and Hospitality. These research and professional practice activities strongly underpin our approach to education authenticity and excellence, ensuring that our students develop the graduate skills needed to succeed in an increasingly complex business world.

We are seeking to appoint a forward thinking and innovative academic leader committed to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement. You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of academic senior leadership and strategic development in higher education, a strong publication record and/or esteem in a professional context, and the personal and academic credibility to drive forward educational enhancements, research activities and the professional practice agenda. This key leadership role provides excellent opportunities to work closely with, and deputise for, the Executive Dean and to influence and shape the strategy for continued growth in research, education and professional practice to deliver the Business School mission and University vision.

BU values and is committed to an inclusive working environment. We seek a diverse community through attracting, developing and retaining staff from different backgrounds to contribute to inspirational learning, advancing knowledge and enriching society. To support and enable our staff to achieve a balance between work and their personal lives, we will also consider proposals for flexible working or job share arrangements.
