**Title**: Youth Worker (Sessional) - Youth Clubs or Cooking sessions.
**Salary**: Between £12.50 to £13 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience).
**Training & Benefits**: Qualifications/Training offered; staff uniform
**Contract**: 6 months fixed term
**Hours**: Between 2-5 hours per week (Days/time to be negotiated at interview)
Sessions available:
Mondays 5.30-8.30pm (Radford) - Youth Club
Tuesdays 3.30pm-5.30pm (Wood End) - Cooking Group
Tuesdays 5.30-8pm (Foleshill) - Youth Club
- Additional hours may be available on ad-hoc basis for example if needed for cover or holiday activities._
**Annual leave**: Statutory entitlement

**Main Purpose of Role**:
To work in community youth work settings as a sessional worker in youth clubs or cooking sessions.
Build positive professional relationships with young people through delivering interactive activities and supporting young people to engage in learning conversations on relevant topics.
**Knowledge Essential**:
Educated to minimum Youth Work Principles Level 2 Award or Level 3 Certificate
Emergency First Aid (within 3 years) Qualification
Safeguarding Young People Level 1 or higher
Full and clean driving licence and has a car they can use for travel to work locations.
Understanding of the development of young people and their needs
Knowledge of equal opportunities
**Desirable**: Food Safety Level 1 or higher
**Experience Essential**:
At least 1 year experience of active face to face work with young people or children in a similar setting/context.
Confident to plan and deliver activities for a group of young people on various relevant topics, including cooking.
Experience of supporting young people with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, or other learning support needs.
Community based work with young people with experience of how to offer support for mental health, poverty, crime, and other neighbourhood social factors.
Engaging with young people aged 10 - 25 from disadvantaged communities.
Responding to safeguarding concerns and working within Safeguarding policies and procedures.
**Desirable**: Community engagement, networking, collaboration with youth organisations.

Ability to plan and deliver group work sessions for young people.

Well-developed communication skills - verbal, non-verbal and written.

Able to ride a bicycle and participate in community outreach
Flexibility to work evenings and during school holidays.
**Youth Programme Casual/Bank Staff**:
- To plan and deliver engaging activities and discussions for young people ages 8-18 year.
- To supervise young people and ensure general health, safety and rules of conduct.
- Support young people to explore attitudes on mental health, fitness, drugs, crime, relationships and bullying.
- Excellent communication with staff colleagues, network contacts, volunteers, and managers.
- Carry out all duties in line with Safeguarding Children Policy and other policy regulations.
- To support innovation of new project development.
- Work as a team together with other staff and volunteers.
- Contribute to keeping up to date and accurate records.
- Support programme set-up and clean-up.
- Contribute to team meetings, support planning and evaluation of sessions by completing any relevant forms and monitoring records.
- Work in partnership with professionals from other organisations that support young people such as social care, health, police, education, youth offending teams, local authorities and voluntary sector.
- Support staff development through coaching, role modelling, appraisal processes and all staff development activity.
- Any other duties and responsibilities which may arise and correspond with the post.

The post holder must comply with the Interagency procedures of the Safeguarding Boards policies for safeguarding children and is required:
