We are looking to recruit a phlebotomist and are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible and well motivated individual for 16 - 20 hours per week, working over 4 -5 mornings.

This role could be a developmental role leading to training as a Nurse Associate (Band 4) with an increase of hours up to 30 hours per week.

Your Responsibilities are to:

- Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients
- Prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing
- Follow proper aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Verify patient information and ensure accurate labeling of specimens
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Handle difficult or challenging patients with professionalism and empathy
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals

Qualifications:

- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- Current certification as a phlebotomist preferred, but training can be provided
- Previous experience in a health care / primary care setting is highly desirable
- Experience of working with the general public
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with basic life support procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
